Towards a Just Green and Digital Transition of Greek Regions:
"Digital Transformation and Agricultural Production in the Region of Thessaly"

The workshop will be dedicated to the challenges and opportunities created by the green transition, focusing on agricultural production and the support of local economies affected by the transformation. Its central goal is to enhance digital maturity, collect and analyze data to map the current situation, and utilize it to formulate policy proposals that will support sustainable development.

At the same time, the workshop will promote the creation of communities of practice, facilitating collaboration among participants and the exchange of ideas to address modern challenges. Special emphasis will be placed on the use of digital tools and innovative practices in the agricultural sector to enhance competitiveness and ensure adaptation to new conditions.

Participants will have the opportunity to actively contribute to discussions, gain specialized knowledge on data usage, and participate in the creation of a roadmap for the green and digital transition of local economies.

The Dialogue Forum on “Digital Transformation and Agricultural Production,” to be held at the Innovent Forum 2025 in Larissa, represents an important meeting point for analyzing and discussing the impacts of the green and digital transition on local economies, especially in the agricultural sector. The forum will focus on opportunities and challenges arising from the introduction of digital technologies in agricultural production, as well as strategies to support sustainable development in the region.

Target groups: Public Administration and authorities, businesses, and local communities in the agricultural sector of the Thessaly Region.


Focus Areas:

  1. Socio-Economic Impacts: The forum will analyze the socio-economic consequences arising from digital transformation. Special emphasis will be placed on the changes experienced by agricultural populations and the ways in which they can adapt to the new conditions.
  1. Digital Maturity and Communities of Practice: The forum will promote the use of tools to assess digital maturity and the creation of communities of practice, enhancing collaboration between farmers, local businesses, and stakeholders. Through this process, proposals will be developed to improve competitiveness and quality of life in rural areas.
  1. Co-Design of Public Policies: The forum will focus on mapping data and public policy measures related to digital transformation and the green transition. Through workshops and interactive sessions, participants will collaborate on developing new public policies based on data and aligned with the needs of local communities.
