ASSOCIATION OF INDUSTRIES OF THESSALY AND CENTRAL GREECE (AITCG)
The Association of Industries of Thessaly and Central Greece (AITCG) is a leading regional industrial association in Greece. It serves as the main union organisation of manufacturing enterprises operating mainly in the Regions of Thessaly and Sterea Ellada.
AITCG is a non-profit private law entity, established in 1966 in Volos.
Members of the Association are industrial and manufacturing companies, from small companies to large units, across different sectors of economy, as well as sectoral, regional or local business organisations.
For almost six decades, AITCG has played a fundamental role in supporting industrial growth, strengthening competitiveness and productivity, supporting internationalization, encouraging innovation and contributing to regional and national economic development.
The Association participates in the Enterprise Europe Network the world’s largest support network for SMEs with international growth ambitions. The Network was established by the European Commission in 2008. The Enterprise Europe Network helps businesses innovate and grow on an international scale. The Network, active worldwide, brings together experts from member organisations that are renowned for their excellence in business support.
In 2015, AITCG established a strategic partnership with PRAXI Network, a leading technology transfer and innovation support organization, hosting one of PRAXI’s branches on AITCG premises, to enhance services in innovation and technology transfer towards its enterprises members.
In order to facilitate the access of SMEs to funding programmes, AITCG in cooperation with ALPHA BANK SA established in 1996 the Development Management Company of European Programs for the regions of Thessaly and Sterea Ellada(AEDEP), member of EFEPAE, a non-profit organization whose purpose is to manage State Aid Actions. The aim of this partnership was the management of the Community Support Frameworks’ Actions, addressed to Small-Medium-Sized Manufacturing Companies in the regions of Thessaly and Sterea Ellada.
AITCG invests in regional value chain development through its role in the Agri-Food Partnership of the Region of Thessaly. This civil non-profit umbrella structure brings together stakeholders interested in improving competitiveness and promoting local agri-food products, produced in the Region of Thessaly.
