Association of Thessalian Industries & Enterprises (STHEV)
The Association of Thessalian Industries & Enterprises (STHEV), headquartered in Larisa, was founded in 1957 and is one of the most important business organizations in Thessaly.
With more than 350 member companies — ranging from dynamic small and medium-sized enterprises to large corporations employing over 10,500 people in total — STHEV is not merely a representative organization. It is a vibrant community of people who create, invest, innovate, and contribute daily to the growth of the regional economy.
Representing a wide range of sectors, STHEV reflects the dynamism, diversity, and prospects of Thessalian entrepreneurship. It operates as a reliable social partner, promoting conditions that enhance competitiveness, productivity, and sustainable long-term growth. With a firm commitment to environmental responsibility, modern and efficient production methods, and private initiative, STHEV advocates the role of healthy entrepreneurship as a key pillar of the free-market economy.
At the same time, it actively supports entrepreneurship, cultivates a culture of cooperation, and strengthens meaningful dialogue with public administration and social partners. Through interventions, proposals, and well-documented positions, it contributes to shaping policies that respond to the needs of the regional business community.
Its activities include the promotion of best management practices, adaptation to technological developments, and—above all—continuous investment in human capital through targeted training and skills development programs.
At both regional and national level, STHEV actively participates in the Regional Council of SEV – Hellenic Federation of Enterprises, and collaborates with PRAXI Network, administrative unit within the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH), and the national contact point of the Enterprise Europe Network. Through these partnerships, it strengthens technology transfer, innovation, and the internationalization of Thessalian businesses.
STHEV also operates as an incubator of organizations, providing headquarters and organizational support to the Hellenic Cotton Association (HCA), the Panhellenic Union of Cotton Ginners and Exporters (PEEEV), the Agricultural Cooperative of Tomato Producers of Thessaly (THESTO) and the European Cotton Alliance (ECA).
Through strategic partnerships and substantive initiatives, STHEV continuously expands its footprint, reaffirming its role as a key institution for business representation and regional development in Thessaly.
