Embedded System Design and Applications Laboratory was founded on 2019. It belongs to the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Peloponnese and it is validated as a Digital Innovation Hub (DIH) of the European Commission, fully operational, focusing mainly in the area of South and Eastern Europe.
The vision of Embedded System Design & Application laboratory is based on two main pillars:
- To provide high quality training to young scientists in aspects related to system design, as well as the advance of research in the areas of embedded systems and embedded software, real time systems, hardware systems and systems for visual perception.
- To provide SMEs and local industry support through (a) the know-how on state-of-the-art technologies and (b) technology transfer, that will allow them to enter the digital era through the development of novel ICT services & systems that will strengthen their position, both in the local and the global market.

As part of a public university, ESDALAB DIH has strong contacts to the network of European universities, to the local ecosystem of Greece and the Balkans, while it is establishing liaisons with African Innovation Hubs, universities and SMEs.
ESDALAB DIH is coordinating an extensive network of DIHs spanning across South and Eastern Europe, through which it offers funding opportunities and supports multi-partner cooperation between organizations with complementary experience. It also offers novel services to companies, especially SMEs (including Start-ups) & Slightly Bigger Companies, to support their digital transformation.
